Napoleon Wallace, Managing Director

Napoleon is currently finishing his MBA at UNC Kenan-Flagler, focusing his efforts on Responsible Investment and Sustainable Entrepreneurship.  Napoleon obtained a strong investment background, working as an energy analyst for Wachovia Capital Markets prior to business school. While in school, he has taken a deep dive into sustainability, holding engagements with SJF Advisory Services, Natural Capital Investment Fund, HIP Investor, CSE Consulting and Gain of Geneva. In Summer 2009, Napoleon was named an Investors’ Circle Venture Fellow and a Carolina Entrepreneurial Fellow.

Napoleon is the lead organizer of the 2009 Sustainable Venture Capital Investment Competition.

Michael Chasnow, Director of Program Development

Michael is a first year MBA student at UNC Kenan-Flagler, focusing on sustainability and energy.  Before school, Michael worked as a consultant within the business ethics and microfinance space.  His work included authoring a study on equity investment in Indian microfinance, published in conjunction with India's National Bank for Rural Development.  While in school, he is active with the Kenan Center for Sustainable Enterprise, Net Impact, and the Energy Club.

Michael is responsible for team recruitment and program development.

Lee Coker, Director of Entrepreneurship Recruitment

Lee is a first year MBA at Kenan Flagler pursuing concentrations in finance and entrepreneurship.  He relocated to Chapel Hill from the Bay Area where he worked as an environmental educator in the Golden Gate National Recreation Area just north of the Golden Gate Bridge.  During his time in the Bay Area, he became increasingly interested in leveraging his sustainability background with finance, which led to a consulting project with HIP Investor where he helped create a S&P 100 index weighted for sustainability.  He has an extensive background in educating and training youth in environmental and social issues with work experience in Alabama, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Ecuador, and California.  Lee manages his own small, TBL portfolio and has a passion for following the markets, especially the clean tech sector.

Lee is responsible for entrepreneurship recruitment for SVCIC.

AJ Dye, Director of Venture Capital Recruitment

AJ is a first-year MBA candidate at UNC Kenan-Flagler, where he is pursuing concentrations in Sustainable Enterprise and Entrepreneurship. In addition, AJ is currently a MBA Associate with SJF Ventures, a venture capital firm focused on the cleantech, technology-enhanced services and premium consumer products sectors.

Prior to business school, AJ was an Associate with Innovation Capital, a boutique investment banking firm with a practice dedicated to the gaming, leisure and hospitality industries.  Over four years, he advised on transactions aggregating over $1.3 billion, including debt and equity offerings, M&A advisory, private placements, valuations, fairness opinions, and financial restructurings. 

AJ holds a BSBA in Finance and International Business from the University of Colorado at Boulder and has completed studies in international finance and economics at the Denmark International Study Program in Copenhagen, Denmark.

AJ is responsible for venture capital recruitment for SVCIC.

Majed Ardati, Director of Operations

Majed is currently in the second year of his MBA at UNC Kenan-Flagler, focusing on entrepreneurship and sustainable enterprise.  Majed's background includes an Industrial Engineering degree from the Pennsylvania State University and extensive experience working in the Middle East.  He helped launch a start-up telecommunications company in Bahrain and has plans to eventually return to the region to launch his own venture.  Over the past summer, Majed worked with CSE Consulting on a variety of sustainability-focused client engagements.

Majed is responsible for logistics and operations for SVCIC.
